From organizer Jill Hamilton-Allen and Facebook event page - " The plan is to start at city hall go west to McQuaid, south to new haven east to US1 and back west and end back at city hall.  As far as parking, it's every man for himself."

March will be 1.2 miles according to Google Map.

Why do we march?

Research studies have shown that Monsanto’s genetically-modified foods can lead to serious health conditions such as the development of cancer tumors, infertility and birth defects.

In the United States, the FDA, the agency tasked with ensuring food safety for the population, is steered by ex-Monsanto executives, and we feel that’s a questionable conflict of interests and explains the lack of government-led research on the long-term effects of GM products.

Recently, the U.S. Congress and president collectively passed the nicknamed “Monsanto Protection Act” that, among other things, bans courts from halting the sale of Monsanto’s genetically-modified seeds.

For too long, Monsanto has been the benefactor of corporate subsidies and political favoritism. Organic and small farmers suffer losses while Monsanto continues to forge its monopoly over the world’s food supply, including exclusive patenting rights over seeds and genetic makeup.

Monsanto's GM seeds are harmful to the environment; for example, scientists have indicated they have contributed to Colony Collapse Disorder among the world's bee population.

What are solutions we advocate?

Voting with your dollar by buying organic and boycotting Monsanto-owned companies that use GMOs in their products.

Labeling of GMOs so that consumers can make those informed decisions easier.

Repealing relevant provisions of the US's "Monsanto Protection Act."

Calling for further scientific research on the health effects of GMOs.

Holding Monsanto executives and Monsanto-supporting politicians accountable through direct communication, grassroots journalism, social media, etc.

Continuing to inform the public about Monsanto's secrets.

Taking to the streets to show the world and Monsanto that we won't take these injustices quietly.

We will not stand for cronyism. We will not stand for poison. That’s why we March Against Monsanto.

When I hear libs speak of accountabilty, it has to be the biggest joke ever. Accountabilty to a lib means whatever mud can be slung at a Conservative to win an election. Privacy, (NSA monitoring of cell phones, and emails.)... IRS targeting of (What was the word Obama, Unions, and others libs used leading up to the elections? ENEMIES!) Tea Party, and Conservative groups...... Lies! (such as the video in regards to Benghazi! Obama, and Clinton lying through their teeth while standing over the Ambassadors coffin! And Susan Rice getting a promotion for expounding this lie, so Obama can use executive privilige to keep Rice from testifying who told her to repeat this lie on the talk shows.)..... Violation of the first amendment. (The AP, and James Rosen of Fox News)..... More lies. (That Obamacare would allow you to keep your own insurance, and Doctor, and that it would not add one penny to the national debt.) WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AMERICA GOES BANKRUPT!..... Cronyism. (Solyndra, Systems A123) Billionaire donors to Obama, and lost taxpayer money. I am sure you will not answer. Much like when Gannet news contacted the state Proggressives for a comment about the IRS scandal. (Got an answering machine.)..... Just sleep well tonight. (Just like Obama did while the Benghazi embassy was under attack, for he had more important matters to tend to, like his fundraiser in Vegas the next day, and an election to win.)

"Holding Monsanto executives and Monsanto-supporting politicians accountable through direct communication, grassroots journalism, social media, etc."

Obama appointed Michael Taylor, a former VP and lobbyist for Monsanto, as senior adviser to the commissioner at the FDA.
